Bhurshing Mahadev

Bhurshing Mahadev temple is built on a cliff, it is believed that Lord Shiva and Parvati witnessed the Mahabharat from this place.Additionally, there is a second legend that two siblings, Bhur Singh and Dahi Devi, died here. And this temple was constructed in their honour. According to the tale, the two siblings lived in Panwa village. In the past, they used the jungle to graze their cattle. They lost the calf one day while grazing. They returned to their home with the surviving cattle. But when their father isn’t home, their stepmother abuses them terribly.

According to her, Bhur Singh cannot enter the house until he locates the missing calf. So he went into the jungle. The next day, the father went into the jungle to find his son, Bhur Singh but discovered that both Bhur Singh and the calf were lying dead. After some days, the stepmother arranged the marriage of her sister (Dahi Devi). Soon after her marriage, when she was on her doli, she made a wish to visit the place where her brother died.

After visiting that place, she jumped from the rock and committed suicide. After that, every year on Ekadashi, the 11th day after Diwali, a fair is organised.

Divya Shilla at Bhurshing Mahadev Temple Sarahan

Divya Shilla is a huge rock, located just behind the bhureshwar Mahadev temple. Beyond this rock, there is a steep cliff. And the view of the villages from here is mesmerizing. Many people throw coins on this rock. It is believed that if your coin stays on the rock, then you wish is fulfilled. The Divya Shilla rock is little inclined, which makes it difficult to stand upon.

 

Shring rishi cave temple

This is one of the naturally formed caves of Himachal Pradesh, One of the rarely known caves of Himachal Pradesh is the Shringi Rishi Cave located in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. These naturally formed caves are located about 30 km from Sarahan in the Sirmaur district. You can reach the entrance of this cave after climbing some stairs. The entrance of this cave is quite narrow. Inside the cave, there are some beautiful rock formations that are naturally formed and are very smooth. You can see water droplets falling down from the rocks inside the cave. Deep inside the cave, there is a Shiva Lingam that is also naturally formed. Visitors are not allowed to go too deep inside the cave as natural light does not reach this place. There are many small caves connected to the main cave.

Baru Sahib, the land of meditation (tapobhoomi), is the realization of vision of Sant Attar Singh Ji, Mastuane Wale (1866–1927), who, in the early twentieth century envisaged a place in the Himalayas from where young souls equipped with the amalgam of spiritual and modern scientific education will spread the message of universal brotherhood throughout the world.

Shri Mata Renuka Ji Temple

Shri Mata Renuka Ji Temple, situated in the picturesque Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, India, is a revered Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Renuka, the mother of Lord Parshuram. Renuka Lake

Renuka lake is in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh in India and it is 672 m above the sea level. It is the largest lake in Himachal Pradesh, with a circumference of about 3214 m. This lake was named after the goddess Renuka and is designated as Ramsar site since November 2005.

 

Haripur Dhar

Haripur Dhar is a small town in Sirmaur Himachal Pradesh, India. The town is situated on a high Ridge overlooking a deep valley at an altitude of 2500 meters above sea level. It was earlier known as ‘Dungbhangyani’ and was the summer capital of Sirmaur. In the month of May and June temperature is reach 0 to 5°C, in winters, there is a view of snowfall

Churdhar

The enchanting Churdhar peak in Sirmaur is one of the highest Peak of Shivalik ranges at a height of 11965 feet. Churdhar, commonly known as Churichandni (Bangle of Snow), is blessed with some of the most spectacular and beautiful landscapes in this region.

The view from the summit embraces a vast panorama of lowland tracts towards the south and snow-capped ranges, including the peaks of Badrinath and Kedarnath in the Garhwal region, towards the north.A wealth of herbs and beautiful alpine flora cover these Himalayan slopes.

Walking through the wildlife sanctuary, one spots the spectacular monal, Himachal’s state bird, along with koklass and kaleej pheasants. The canine-toothed musk deer and the endangered Himalayan black bear inhabit the higher forests.Below the summit is the deodar-roofed, single-storey, square temple of Srigul with a lingam dedicated to Lord Shiva (CHOORESHWAR MAHADEV)
